About Iron Infusions

At VALU Integrative Health, we provide safe, medically supervised iron infusions in a comfortable sterile clinical setting.

Iron infusions are an effective treatment for iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia when oral iron supplements are ineffective or not tolerated, or when rapid iron replacement is needed, including during pregnancy, before or after surgery, with heavy menstrual bleeding, or for malabsorption conditions such as celiac disease, Crohn's disease, or gastric bypass surgery.

We offer complete iron infusion care under one roof, including comprehensive assessments, on-site physicians and pharmacy, IV iron prescriptions, iron infusions, and fetal heart rate Doppler monitoring for pregnant patients.

Iron Infusion Evaluation​
​
A qualified Naturopathic Doctor will review your blood work, symptoms, and medical history to determine whether an iron infusion is appropriate and recommend the most suitable IV iron formulation and dose. If additional testing is needed, blood work requisitions can be provided.
A pre-infusion assessment will also be completed to ensure that your treatment is safe and comfortable. If an IV iron prescription is required, it can be arranged with one of the GPs within our facility.

Your iron infusion session will then be scheduled within 1-2 weeks only of your assessment.
Consultation Fee: $150
(covered by extended health insurance plans or health spending accounts)

IV Iron Prescription Pick Up
Once your prescription is ready, you may have it sent to your preferred pharmacy or conveniently pick up your IV iron medication from Seashell Pharmacy, located within our facility. Our on-site pharmacy keeps Monoferric® (iron derisomaltose) and Venofer® (iron sucrose) in stock and has extensive experience processing insurance coverage for iron infusions, making your treatment as seamless as possible.

If you already have an IV iron prescription from another healthcare provider, you're welcome to bring your own medication on the day of your infusion. For external prescriptions, the prescribing physician must complete and sign our Iron Infusion Delegation Form before your appointment.
Medication Cost: $47 - $580
(covered by Ontario Drug Benefit Program, Trillium Drug Program, or extended drug insurance plans)
03.
Iron Infusion Session

Your iron infusion is typically scheduled within 1-2 weeks of your assessment. Most appointments last approximately 2 hours, including preparation, the infusion, and post-infusion observation.

Prior to your infusion, you'll receive detailed instructions on how to prepare, what to expect during your treatment, and your post-infusion care. Throughout the infusion, our experienced medical team will closely monitor you to ensure your treatment is delivered safely and comfortably.
Our clinic is fully equipped with professional medical-grade equipment and supported by a multidisciplinary healthcare team trained to respond to any medical situation, providing the highest standard of care from start to finish.
